BSS & SOCATOTS Birmingham

Budding young Ronaldo's and Ronaldinho's, who last month graduated from the regions SOCATOTS® programme, took part in their first Brazilian Soccer Schools session today. The 4 years olds will be attending their new Primary Schools next month, so have reached the age where BSS will begin to further develop their talents as young football players.

The new Futebol de Salão (FDS) 5 - 7 years syllabus, devised by Simon Clifford, will blend aspects of SOCATOTS® with the 'Core Skills' sections from Brazilian Soccer Skills, including 'Core Dribbling Skills', 'Core Juggling and Control' and 'Core Passing Techniques'. A range of specially designed equipment, with BSS-branding and colouring will also be introduced to teach this new age group. Mitre's Futebol de Salão 'Mini' ball will also be used to aid the youngsters development.

Saturday 31st of March was undoubtedly one of the proudest days of my life. It was the day my son Callum (cisse) set foot on his treasured pitch at Old Trafford, and performed his football skills and tricks to a record 76,098 Manu fans! He had been selected along with 5 other boys from across the UK to represent Brazilian Soccer Schools ( our sister company for 5-18 yrs) and Air Asia, a sponsor of Manchester United.

The boys joined John Farnworth, who is the World Champion at Freestyle Skills to wow the crowd. Callum (11) who has already had the amazing opportunity to perform for people such as Pele, Carlos Alberto Torres and Careca was elated when he stepped out on the pitch at the club he has supported since he was 2 years old. During the week leading up to comic relief we set to raise some money during our SOCATOTS® sessions. We all wore red noses, and as expected had a little bit of fun trying to keep them on! Thanks to everyone who brought raffle tickets, red noses or donated prizes.
